American Idol speculations on the final 2 started after the shocking elimination of Colton Dixon during the Top 7 results show.
Now that Colton is out of the competition, the Colton-Phillip final 2 prediction is over.
This will give greater possibility for a Jessica-Joshua final two on American Idol Season 11, the first no-white final 2 ever in the history of the show.
Everyone knows it, the producers and judges alike, that Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet are the best two contestants this season with regards to vocal prowess.
But when it comes to “connecting” with the audience, the judges named Phillip Phillips and Skylar Laine.
As for me, I’ll go with the vocal prowess because the “connecting-with-the-audience” thing can be learned. The vocal ability, it’s in-born.
It’s interesting to note that the Jessica-Joshua duet last Holy Week on American Idol was hailed by critics as THE best duet ever on the show’s 11 year history.
Sanchez and Ledet earned a standing ovation from the three “Idol” judges for their performance of “I Knew You Were Waiting for Me” that week. The Examiner even said that it was “one of the best ever” on American Idol.
Randy Jackson said: “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)” was originally performed by Aretha Franklin and George Michael, and while it’s hard to say that a couple of talented young bucks performed better than those two great, Jessica and Joshua put their own spin on the song that, to me, was equally as good and easily the best performance of the night and season by far.”
If you missed the talked-about duet of Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet, here it is again:
