Grace Lee on Dating P-Noy Rumor: ‘I Have Never Spoken of Him Publicly Yet’

Grace Lee denied the rumor on Friday that she allegedly dated President Noynoy Aquino III.

Grace Lee is a 28-year-old radio and tv personality of Korean descent. She grew up in the Philippines and considers herself a Filipina in heart.

The rumor was started by DJ Mo Twister, who is currently in the US, via a simple tweet last January 26:

“We are talking about Grace Lee’s date last night with President Aquino. #itsmorefuninthephilippines.”

In an interview with “Balitanghali” on GMA News TV on Friday, the Radio and TV host Lee denied that she started the rumor herself but she did not say that it’s not true.

“Wala pa akong nirerelease na statements and I have never spoken of him [P-Noy] publicly yet,” she said.

Grace Lee did not comment any further and passed the ball on the President’s court.

“You know, I have the highest respects for the President and I respect his privacy. I leave it up to him to speak on the matter…best thing to do now ay abangan na lang nila [kung] ano ang sasabihin ni President,” Lee added.

Grace Lee first met President Noynoy in June last year during the inauguration of the Korea Electric Power Corp. power plant in Cebu, where she served as host.

P-Noy was quoted by the media describing Lee “Guapa” or beautiful.

Shalani Soledad, together with her future husband Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo, told the press that they invited President Noynoy Aquino to their wedding this January 22. President Aquino (P-Noy) is Shalani Soledad’s ex-boyfriend.

Rep. Romulo said they would understand if the President won’t be able to attend their wedding.

“Although we understand that he is a very busy person kasi presidente siya, hopeful kami na makarating din siya,” Rep. Romulo quoted as saying.

President Noynoy Aquino, on the other hand, wished her former girlfriend to have a “strong and united” family.

“Our emphasis is always to strengthen a family. We believe a lot of the solutions to the problems in the country will be best addressed by a family that is strong, united, and strengthening and caring for the children that they bring into this world. We hope that this will be what the union of Roman and Shalani will be able to achieve,” he said in an ambush interview on Wednesday during the inauguration of a call center in SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

As for the question of he will attend the wedding, the President said it will depend on his schedule during that day.

The Romulo-Soledad Nuptial will be held at the St. Benedict Church in Silang, Cavite with around 400 guests expected to attend.

No less than President Noynoy Aquino led the nation’s observance of the 115th death anniversary of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal Friday, December 30.

A simultaneous flag-raising ceremony was done in various cities, municipalities and towns nationwide at around 7am in the morning.

P-Noy then laid a wreath at the Rizal Monument in Luneta, the place where Rizal was executed by the Spaniards in 1896.

The highlight of this year’s commemoration of Jose Rizal’s Death Anniversary was the unveiling of the Rizal Fountain historical marker at the Noli Me Tangere Garden in Rizal Park. According to reports, the fountain was a gift of the German government to the Filipino people on December 30, 1964. It was renovated in time for yesterday’s commemoration.

Present during the event were Vice President Jejomar Binay, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, US Ambassador to the Philippines Harry Thomas, National Historical Commission of the Philippines Chairman Dr. Maria Diokno, Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Jessie Dellosa, and several members of the Rizal clan.
